Three commitments that shape every student at SkyHive.
Registered teachers with years of exam-marking experience. They know what examiners look for, and what students need to improve.
Ambitious students from Hong Kong and international schools, in one small, supportive group. Lessons stay engaging and knowledge sticks.
Unlimited exam-style practice, assigned by the teacher. The AI generates a progress report showing strengths and what still needs work.

The entire platform is built around official exam objectives. Every practice task is scored and analysed, then used to plan the next week's lessons.
We assess your child's current level with a short test designed by the teacher. You receive a full report showing strengths, weaknesses, and what to work on next.
The teacher creates a personalised learning plan with clear goals. A copy is sent to your email for reference.
Your child attends classes with the teacher, focusing step by step on those goals. Each cycle of practice is scored, analysed, and folded back into next week's plan.
SkyHive was founded by a registered Hong Kong teacher with years of secondary school experience, including three years as Head of Biology. She left the school system to follow her passion, and while tutoring on the side she saw a problem: students deserve quality education, but truly qualified teachers are often too expensive. She built SkyHive to change that. Every decision about curriculum, group sizes, and assessment comes from classroom experience.
I built SkyHive because I wanted to teach the way I always wished my own department could: small enough to listen, structured enough to measure, and effective enough to actually move a student's understanding. Beyond that, I believe deeply in learning together. A good community doesn't just help you study, it stays with you. Once students start making real connections, we'll bring them together through events where they can work, build, and innovate alongside each other, in the classroom and beyond.
We have answered these enough times to know they are the real ones. Honest answers below. No marketing pivots.
You receive a fortnightly report, written in plain English and 中文, showing assessment-objective progress, the topics that moved up a band, and what next week's lesson will focus on. No vague “great progress.” Specifics, with the work attached.
We sit deliberately between cheap large-class centres and 1-on-1 tuition. Six students lets a registered teacher actually teach, not lecture, not babysit. Before you commit, every family is offered a free 30-minute consultation with the founder to walk through the diagnostic and recommend the right tier.
We do not run 200-seat lectures, we do not photocopy a celebrity tutor's notes, and we do not sell branded pencil cases. We are a small academy of registered teachers. The closest analogue is a private school department. That is the bar we hold ourselves to.
Aggregated across the past three cohorts. Audited by an external accountancy firm. Full methodology available on request.
The fortnightly report is the first time I've actually understood where my son was strong and where he was weak. We got specifics, not “他好用心.”
Six students sounds small, but it's why I improved. I had to actually explain my answer in the room, not just nod along to a recorded lecture.
As a teacher myself, I was sceptical of “AI” claims. SkyHive's platform is just a clean way to track AOs, and the teacher still writes the plan. That convinced me.

Small-group English for working adults. One hour per lesson, taught in a workplace context.
All fees are HKD and inclusive of materials. Sibling discount: 10% off the second child. Every enrolment includes a complimentary 30-minute consultation with the founder before your first paid package.
If we haven't answered your question, write to skyhiveacademy@gmail.com. A teacher will reply, not a chatbot.
You book a 30-minute slot online or by WhatsApp. The teacher gives a short diagnostic on the topic of your choice, then sits with you and your child for 10 minutes to walk through the AO breakdown and recommend a stream. No pressure to enrol. Many families need a week to decide.
Both. Our Central and Causeway Bay studios run in-person classes; we also stream every group live for students who can't attend that week. Recorded lessons remain in your platform for the rest of the term.
Every term includes one free make-up class: either by joining another group at the same level, or via a 30-minute 1-on-1 with the teacher. Additional make-ups are HK$200.
Student data is stored on servers physically located in Hong Kong, encrypted at rest. We never sell or share data with third parties. You can request a full export or deletion of your child's account at any time, and we comply with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.
Yes. Every teacher's EDB registration number is available on request after enrolment, and you can verify it directly via the Education Bureau's public register. We expect parents to do this. It's the point of the credential.
We do not offer refunds on completed terms. Fees are committed once a term begins. Instead, every prospective family is offered a free 30-minute consultation with the founder. After the trial lesson and diagnostic, we sit with you to discuss whether SkyHive is the right fit, and which tier suits your child. If we do not think we can help, we will tell you so directly, and recommend an alternative.
DSE classes default to Cantonese with English subject vocabulary. IB and MYP classes default to English. Most teachers can switch fluidly. If a particular concept lands better in 中文, that's how it gets explained.
Two factors: the diagnostic result, and the schedule that works for your family. After the trial, we propose two or three groups. Children of the same school year are placed together where possible; we never up-stream a student who isn't ready.
A free 30-minute trial lesson and diagnostic. Held at our Central or Causeway Bay studio, or online. A teacher will follow up within one working day.
