Registered Hong Kong teachers your family can trust.

SkyHive Academy is taught entirely by registered teachers who have marked DSE and IB papers — in small groups capped by design, with an AI co-pilot that tracks every assessment objective.

Three pillars

What we promise, and how we keep it.

Three commitments that shape every group at SkyHive — written plainly, with the proof point that makes each one verifiable.

Taught by registered teachers, not amateurs.

Every SkyHive teacher holds an EDB Certificate of Registration and has either marked HKEAA or IBO papers, or designed a school's internal assessments. We never assign your child to a moonlighting university student.

100% EDB-registered teachers, every lesson.

Small groups that think out loud.

Group sizes are capped by design, not by demand. Six students is the right number for a teacher to listen, ask, and let students explain ideas to one another — the part of learning that 1-on-1 misses and 30-seat halls never reach.

Maximum six students per group, no exceptions.

An AI co-pilot for every student.

Our platform reads every piece of practice your child completes and maps performance against the official assessment objectives. Strong topics, weak topics, and the next set of questions to attempt — visible to teacher, student, and parent.

Tracked against all four DSE assessment objectives.
The platform

Diagnostic. Plan. Practice. Repeat — with evidence.

The SkyHive platform is built around the official assessment objectives of each curriculum. Every piece of practice your child completes is scored, mapped, and turned into the next week's lesson focus.

Built on the public DSE / IB assessment objectives — not a black box.
Parent dashboard summarises progress in plain English and 中文.
Practice questions are reviewed by a teacher before they reach your child.
Step 01

Diagnostic

A 30-minute baseline assessment, marked by a registered teacher, places your child against every assessment objective for their curriculum.

A custom plan, written by your teacher

The platform proposes weekly priorities; the teacher reviews, edits, and signs them off. The plan adapts as your child's marks change.

Step 03

Targeted practice with a feedback loop

Each question your child answers nudges next week's plan. Across a term, you can see exactly which sub-skills moved — and which still need work.

Meet the founder

Credentials first. Photographs after.

SkyHive was founded by a working teacher, not a marketer. Every decision about curriculum, group sizes, and assessment objectives flows from the classroom, not the boardroom.

“I built SkyHive because I wanted to teach the way I always wished my own department could — small enough to listen, structured enough to measure, and patient enough to actually move a student's understanding.”

For parents

The questions Hong Kong parents actually ask us.

We have answered these enough times to know they are the real ones. Honest answers below — no marketing pivots.

“How will I know my child is improving?”

You receive a fortnightly report — written in plain English and 中文 — showing assessment-objective progress, the topics that moved up a band, and what next week's lesson will focus on. No vague “great progress.” Specifics, with the work attached.

“Is this worth the fee?”

We sit deliberately between cheap large-class centres and 1-on-1 tuition. Six students lets a registered teacher actually teach — not lecture, not babysit. Before you commit, every family is offered a free 30-minute consultation with the founder to walk through the diagnostic and recommend the right tier.

“How is this different from a 補習社?”

We do not run 200-seat lectures, we do not photocopy a celebrity tutor's notes, and we do not sell branded pencil cases. We are a small academy of registered teachers. The closest analogue is a private school department — that is the bar we hold ourselves to.

The fortnightly report is the first time I've actually understood where my son was strong and where he was weak. We got specifics, not “他好用心.”

Six students sounds small, but it's why I improved. I had to actually explain my answer in the room — not just nod along to a recorded lecture.

As a teacher myself, I was sceptical of “AI” claims. SkyHive's platform is just a clean way to track AOs — and the teacher still writes the plan. That convinced me.

FAQ

The honest details.

If we haven't answered your question, write to skyhiveacademy@gmail.com — a teacher will reply, not a chatbot.

How does the free trial lesson work?+

You book a 30-minute slot online or by WhatsApp. The teacher gives a short diagnostic on the topic of your choice, then sits with you and your child for 10 minutes to walk through the AO breakdown and recommend a stream. No pressure to enrol — many families need a week to decide.

Are lessons in person, online, or hybrid?+

Both. Our Central and Causeway Bay studios run in-person classes; we also stream every group live for students who can't attend that week. Recorded lessons remain in your platform for the rest of the term.

What happens if my child misses a class?+

Every term includes one free make-up class — either by joining another group at the same level, or via a 30-minute 1-on-1 with the teacher. Additional make-ups are HK$200.

How do you handle data privacy on the AI platform?+

Student data is stored on servers physically located in Hong Kong, encrypted at rest. We never sell or share data with third parties. You can request a full export or deletion of your child's account at any time, and we comply with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.

Can I verify a teacher's EDB registration?+

Yes. Every teacher's EDB registration number is available on request after enrolment, and you can verify it directly via the Education Bureau's public register. We expect parents to do this — it's the point of the credential.

How do I know this is the right fit before I commit?+

We do not offer refunds on completed terms — fees are committed once a term begins. Instead, every prospective family is offered a free 30-minute consultation with the founder. After the trial lesson and diagnostic, we sit with you to discuss whether SkyHive is the right fit, and which tier suits your child. If we do not think we can help, we will tell you so directly — and recommend an alternative.

Do you teach in Cantonese, English, or both?+

DSE classes default to Cantonese with English subject vocabulary. IB and MYP classes default to English. Most teachers can switch fluidly — if a particular concept lands better in 中文, that's how it gets explained.

How do you decide which group my child joins?+

Two factors: the diagnostic result, and the schedule that works for your family. After the trial, we propose two or three groups. Children of the same school year are placed together where possible; we never up-stream a student who isn't ready.
